@Helen Denying, judging. correcting, demanding, insisting and the certainty of being right about where, how and when a person, beside oneself, must/should be/act/surrender to attain spiritual heights is about as beneficial to spiritual growth as global warming is to the North Pole. Teachers and leaders are important for us to learn the concept of surrender, but then at some point, we have to do it on our own. Keep on truckin'!

If you mean rise as upwards through the body, then yes. But the vibration itself does not rise. How? My vibes quicken, decelerate or expand like an ocean or lake. Maybe I'm just a dodo?

Glad we're in sync! :-) for that matter, vibrations do not rise, either, but quicken. Whereas a tone can become higher - resonating with the upper spheres while the vibration intensifies, becoming more dense. The bio-'rhythm' is a wave, more liquid than solid. Oh, je!!

@Ramey You have just proved my point - not sure if you intended to do so! Resonance is to or, as you say, with something. Here it is about opening portals to allow one's own personal vibration or frequency to rise. And I don't agree that resonance is used more frequently for this particular thing than resonance in the US. I simply have never heard anyone speak about allowing their resonance to rise.

Resonating with the universe is more common in US spiritual 'jargon' than vibrating. Attunement is also a musical term often used in esoteric/spiritual exercises/meditations.

When you meditate you are raising your vibration, expanding your consciousness and bringing in more LIGHT from your spiritual being. neutral Yorkshireman : vibration is not the same as resonance - as I see it, this is about induced vibration (resonance) at various frequencies - Schumann resonance, tonal sequences etc. Getting in tune with the universe (or, as Michael Moorcock would see it, the multiverse)

I'm not really happy with vibration frequency as this cannot rise in my opinion, but quicken or thicken.

A hologram is an optical illusion. It cannot be 'programmed' with a frequency beyond the naturally resonant frequency of sticky plastic which is not the natural resonant frequency of the human body. You will know if something is making your body resonate, because you be vibrating like someone's shoved an electric toothbrush up your colon. Vibrating at your resonant frequency would not, I imagine, be a pleasant experience."

You asked for the US version, and this is how the concept is expressed here. It is also a fairly common expression in the Russian esoteric literature as well. Source: personal readings over 30 years to understand my clients' esoteric practices and beliefs to diminish my own personal bias in their psychotherapy.
