German term

Anbieter von Ausgleichsenergie

German to English Bus/Financial Energy / Power Generation
What would you call Anbieter here, before I mention what I was thinking? This is not the actual passage, but this definition hits the nail on the head and the context is the same.

Anbieter von Ausgleichsenergie:
Lieferant, der die technischen Voraussetzungen erfüllt, am Ausgleichsenergiemarkt anzubieten.

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jun 27, 2002:
what about offeror? Balancing energy is being traded on a power exchange. (not so clear in this passage with the simple Ausgleichsenergiemarkt) but that's what they meant with anbieten. Using this passage as an example, I can't say supplier. If it is being traded, I wouldn't say the company was a provider. What else is left?

Dietl says:
Anbieter offerer, offeror, supplier, bidder; (bei Ausschreibungen) party tendering

Party tendering balancing energy?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks all. I'm awarding the points to the first person providing the choice. Provider works (even in the definition). Supplier is okay, too, just not if I have to use it in the same sentence as Lieferant. I'll admit that my "offeror" choice was not the best."
