Discussion

gangels (X) Nov 22, 2014:
Der Techniker NOT Techniken according to copy. Changes the entire sentence structure.
Horst Huber (X) Nov 21, 2014:
If there is something comparable in the Anglophone world, would you wish to bring out what is special about this degree program ? Conceivably the question might be rephrased? It concerns the degree of "Techniker", and not specifically "techniques".

preventive environmental and occupational medicine

Or health, or healthcare.
I think this covers it pretty comprehensively.

My reference has a comma after preventive, which is possibly better.

Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : You have to say what it is you're preventing!//Your reference is a bad translation. Workplace prevention means preventing the workplace, which is meaningless.

no I don't; http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/degree-programmes/programme/...
neutral Armorel Young : agree with Phil - you can have "fire prevention" or "cancer prevention" but "workplace prevention" is an impossible concept

neutral SuzukiBandit : Workplace prevention ?! I agree with the above disagreement.

environmental health and safety methods (procedures/processes)

In the corresponding English job descriptions "workplace" seems to be covered by "environment"

Environmental Health and Safety Technicians perform and/or supervise technical duties in the fields of industrial hygiene, safety engineering, environmental sanitation, fire protection engineering and/or radiological health; and perform other related duties as required.

Environmental Health Technician

Agree with gangels and Horst. The only source using this as a header clearly doesn’t talk about methods but about the profession in general. Seems strange to me that they don’t seem to be bothered enough to correct this apparent mistake on their website: http://www.claudiana.bz.it/de/studium-und-weiterbildung/laur...

The job description below is very similar to the programs offered by Claudiana:
