May be one way of saying it. Or shifted/moved into the foreground, if it is a comparative comment.

Obviously it helps if you can see the image in question. It could also be that there is only one table, in which case I would simplify the sentence and say that the table is placed in the foreground, parallel to the picture plane.

Does that make any sense in your context?
