ailettes (MP3 player)

French to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Sports shop
CONTEXT:

"Les ailettes sont souples et facile à régler."

In reference to an underwater MP3 player. Does it mean that this device has fins or am I misinterpreting it? TIA.

More context would probably help. And I imagine we're talking about a "balladeer MP3 étanche"?

flanges/flange tips

Without further context I would imagine that these are the flanges inside the earpieces, which increase the seal when underwater.

This is quite a clear picture:

In addition, the headphones also comes with three variety of sizes of interchangeable triple flange rubberized earpieces that can be use for secure and tailored fit.

Thanks gallagy2
agree kashew : Flange seems logical - but the qualifying "adjustable (facile à régler)" doesn't quite fit the image of ther plugs in your first ref. // Yes, easy to fit snug seems the idea - it does say "souples".

Thanks kashew. I think it is more "régler" in the sense of "fitting in the ears" in this instance.
