Discussion

Drmanu49 Jun 1, 2018:
Both physicians said it could only be Ante cibum. But they also explained the 8 a.m., 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. by the fact that it should be taken every 8 hours and whan I objected that 10 pm didn't fit they answered that 12 pm would have been too late.
Drmanu49 Jun 1, 2018:
I am going to check with hospital physicians, I have a meeting in an hour. I'll keep you posted.
joanna menda (asker) Jun 1, 2018:
That doesn't work either Dr. Manu because it is taken at 8 a.m., 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. :(
Drmanu49 Jun 1, 2018:
Could be "avant coucher" before going to bed.
philgoddard Jun 1, 2018:
No, I think you misunderstood me. I was suggesting it might mean dalacin A or C, but I can't find a dalacin A, so my suggestion is probably wrong.
joanna menda (asker) Jun 1, 2018:
Unfortunately that's the only information I have Phil. Wouldn't it be D/C then? I also found Apo-Clindamycine but no abbreviation for A/C
philgoddard Jun 1, 2018:
Could it be part of the product name? There is a dalacin C.

Note from asker:
Thanks Dr. Manu but do people have dinner at 10 p.m. in France? Seems a bit late to me especially since he is an older man.

There were 73 evaluable patients entered into a prospective, double-blinded trial comparing aztreonam/clindamycin (A/C) to gentamicin/clindamycin (G/C) for the prevention of infection after penetrating abdominal trauma. Aztreonam was administered at a dosage of 2 g every 8 hours and gentamicin at 5 mg/kg for the first 24 hours and then adjusted by serum monitoring to a peak of 6 to 8 micrograms/mL and a trough of less than 2 micrograms/mL; all patients received 900 mg of clindamycin every 8 hours. neutral Drmanu49 : No Sue, I am quite confident it's just ante cibum and there is no mention of aztreonam.
