Context :This is from a part design manual for the fixed gear of an automotive gearbox. The subject is the central part of the gear (not the gear teeth). On the part diagram, the gear is broken down into :
Flanc de denture; Face pignon; Jante; Fût; Liaison avec l'arbre; (Arbre)
This is the phrase:
Fut du pignon (=entretoise intégrée) : Sa fonction est de mettre en place axialement le pignon et supporte la liaison avec l’arbre
(In the texte, the word 'Fût' is sometimes written with the accent, sometimes without. I don't know which is right).
Any suggestions?
