French term

circuits courts

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
This is the title and main term of an academic paper dedicated to "circuits courts":

"Un circuit court, c’est un mode de commercialisation qui se définit soit par la vente directe du producteur au consommateur, soit par la vente indirecte, à condition qu’il n’y ait qu’un seul intermédiaire."

Among the paradigms of this model, the article refers to japanese Teikei: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teikei

Basically, I'm searching for a catchy title and easily understandable way to convey the same meaning.

Thank you for your advice!

short channels

The division of marketing channels between "short" and "long" is not as well-established or widely used as the one between "direct" and "indirect", but it does exist, even in the academic literature; see link below.

Do say "channels". This is about selling, not about supply chains.
Note from asker:
Thanks! The distinction you made between chain/channel is very relevant, I'll certainly use it.

short [supply] chains

I can't see how "short supply chains" can make a catchy title and what relevance the Teikei example has to this.

Lots of examples.

Hi Karen. The asker was asking for a catchy title for academia. I would have by no means suggested such phrasing for a key concept to be developed in an article. And idiomatic language has a lot to do with sports, my confidence level being here=1.
disagree Daryo : catchy title for academia??? (real) academia is not PR BS, and should never be ...

no go-between

Le teikei (提携) a ses origines en 1957 au Japon. 提携 veut dire coopération ou collaboration. La forme des teikei varie mais c’est tout simplement un système de distribution directe entre un producteur et un consommateur.

I can't help you with a catchy title ... but a short circuit, called a 'short', is an electrical circuit that allows a current to travel along an unintended path where no impedance is encountered. In a similar fashion, when a producer sells directly to a consumer, he gets rid of one or more intermediaries or go-betweens ... This is easy to understand. ¡Buena suerte señor Ganassi!

Several examples of French research papers on "circuits courts" with abstracts in English, e.g.

La notion de proximité pour analyser les circuits courts / Cécile Praly (et al.). XLVIème colloque de l’Association de Science Régionale de Langue Française, 2009. 17 p.
This paper presents some reflections on the development of a framework analysis to understand the relationships between producers and consumers in short food supply chains.
