PSA
français vers anglais
Affaires / Finance
Comptabilité
government allocations, tax documents
French document summarizing services received by a beneficiary of the French family allowance office (CAF). I've found the very useful answers for RSA (Revenu de solidarité active) in KudoZ, and now I'm wondering if this is a 'Prime de solidarité active,' a 'Prestation de solidarité active,' or something else (even a typo?)... Here's the context:
Prime exceptionnelle PSA - [amount given]
rappel sur la période de [dates given]
Revenu de solidarité active - [amount given]
Prime exceptionnelle PSA - [amount given]

PSA (Prime de Solidarité Active, income support)
"PSA" and "Prime de Solidarité Active" in italics.
Income support works for the UK, but I obviously don't know how it sounds to an American ear...I suppose it did what it said on the tin, it supported people's income.
Btw the way the benefit was paid on an annual basis, automatically, based on tax returns, that's why a few hundred euros can be considered fairly mean.
And funnily enough, UK Income Support has been rebranded too:
"You can no longer make a new claim for Income Support. If you’re on a low income and need help to cover your living costs, you can apply for Universal Credit instead."

Distinctly Orwellian!

: So, according to you, PSA is the same as any Income support distributed in France, This cannot be right!

I think I get your latest point, finally, bravo for your persistence/obstinance. Of course, any money a person gets off the French state could be defined as "income support". "Assistinat" ultimately fails. How do you like "Special Sarko Bonus"?

It was a unique bonus in 2009, a punctual event, (sort of a preview of what to expect from the future rsa system), once the RSA was deployed, there are occasional bonus granted from time to time but nothing related to this, there shouldn't be any mention of it past april 2009. (PSA paid in a single payment).
And it's not impossible that the payment was retrospective, 10-plus years after the fact...the cogs of bureaucracy in France sometimes turn VERY slowly.
I'm still waiting on five or ten years of statements from my very good friends at Cipav. Well, 16 out of 17, to be precise...
As such i wouldn't refer it as "an income" to not confuse people with RSA which already is.

"The RSA will begin to be implemented on 1 June 2009. Ahead of its implementation, the Government will pay an exceptional bonus of €200 to 3.8 million households in the first half of 2009."
https://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/economic_governance/sgp...
If I remember correctly, it was essentially a relatively small social benefit (a few hundred euros?) paid to low-paid workers, for "getting on their bikes" basically.
Of course you should probably dress that up a bit, but I don't like the "active solidarity bonus" mentioned by Althea (solid work there), which is Brussels-speak in my opinion.
Maybe "Income support"?
Income Support - GOV.UKhttps://www.gov.uk › Welfare › Benefits entitlement
Income Support is extra money to help people on a low income or none at all - rates, eligibility and how to claim.
Page 6 of this leaflet explains a bit about it.
https://www.caf.fr/sites/default/files/caf/431/COULEURS_CAF/...
Page 19 of this European Commission paper translates it as "prime de solidarité active (active solidarity bonus)".
https://ec.europa.eu/social/BlobServlet?docId=9028&langId=en
Hope it's of some help.
