English term or phrase: how those one influences...

The problem with mixing evolution and or millions of years with Scripture is that it undermines the very foundation of the gospel. While a person can still be a Christian even while denying the existence of a literal Adam and Eve, such a belief makes Genesis 1–3 untrustworthy. And from there, it’s a slippery slope to making even the gospel untrustworthy. We can trust God’s Word when He tells us that Adam and Eve were the first humans. It may not necessarily affect one’s salvation if one rejects a literal Adam and Eve as recorded in Genesis, but it does affect ***how those one influences*** (e.g., the coming generations) view Scripture itself — and that is the issue!

Does this last sentence mean that, if a person rejects a literal Adam and Eve, this affects the way "people under this person's influence" look at Scripture?
