An "area" is two-dimensional, so if meters are used to measure it, it could ONLY be "square meters", not "cubic meters" or plain "(linear) meters". I've never heard of any "synonym" for "square meter", so "an area of approximately 50,000 square meters" is not s.t. I would ever go checking solely because I couldn't hear "square" clearly on the sound recording. It doesn't matter even if it's completely garbled - the blank between "50,000" and "metres" can ONLY be filled with "square" if the whole of "an area of approximately 50,000 *&*&^%¬ meters" is to make sense. |
