English term
highway, freeway, motorway
English to Slovak
Tech/Engineering
Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Mali by to byt tri rozlicne slova, budu sa pouzivat v systeme hlasovej navigacie v automobiloch. Napada ma dialnica (freeway), rychlostna cesta (motorway), mam problem s highway. Mozno cesta 1. triedy, nie som si isty. Vopred vdaka za akukolvek radu.
Should be three different words in Slovak, will be used in voice navigation system for vehicles.
Thanks a million

You need to explain to the customer that we use only one term for that 3 terms. See the definition below:
A highway is a major road within a city, or linking several cities together. It includes roads known as interstate highway, freeway, motorway and autobahn, where a full description varies by country. Generally, a highway is a road which has multiple lanes of traffic in each direction, often with a physical division (median) between opposing traffic, and separate access ramps to and from the highway which are more widely separated than connections on a standard road and are often grade-separated. A highway may prohibit access by pedestrians and limit what vehicles may travel on it.
It is a good question and it shows the problems with translation.
Do not use term rychlostna cesta, it doesn't have foreign equivalent, it is basically communist shortcut, when they didn't have money to build real highway

Navrhoval by som poziadat klienta o dodania automapy s ukazkami jednotlivych typov ciest a podla toho vybrat ekvivalent.
Comment: "Dakujem, je to dobry napad, ale bolo prilis malo casu, navyse, system ma fungovat pre celu Europu, vratane Britanie."

cesta 1. triedy, diažnica, cesta 1. triedy pre motorové vozidlá
However, in Slovakia do not recognise them this way.
Discussion
Why don't you ask them how they did it in Czech?
