the two are different Explanation: Migrant farmworkers move from place to place but may work the whole year. Seasonal farmworkers only work during certain seasons (times of the year) usually when certain products (vegetables, fruits etc) are ripe and ready to be picked. For example, things like apples and potatoes are ready to be picked in the Fall but corn is ready in the Summer. Migrant=moving from place to place. Seasonal=only work during certain times of the year, usually when certain crops are ready. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-03-24 01:03:16 (GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- I understood that these terms are similar in Serbian, there IS a difference in English between \"migrant worker\", \"seasonal worker\" and even \"day laborer\" and i was trying to explain that difference in order to help the asker (and others) arrive at a more clear and precise translation. |
