to be in diligence with

English to Russian Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Investment
as in:

The company is in diligence with the Series A investors

The basic meaning is more or less understood - the company is working with the investor on getting investment.
But why such choice of words? As far as I can see, there is nothing in the main meaning that could convey the meaning of this word in this context.
Is there an equivalent expression in Russian?

Even if there were "due" in the expression, as in "to be in due diligence with" the question would be still the same. The correct answer, as far as I can see, has been provided by Henry Dotterer.

I understand your question, but you are discussing if due is omitted here. But I think due diligence and your question have slightly different meanings, IMHO. I might be wrong.

Both are used here: The question was not where terms "due diligence" or "to be in diligence" is used, or even the meaning of "due diligence," but the meaning of the specific expression, to wit, "to be in diligence with." Don't be digging yourself in deeper.

"due" has been left out because it can be assumed Let's say that you and I both know the steps involved in baking bread. First, you mix the ingredients, then you knead the dough, then you bake, then you allow the bread to "rest". If I know you know the steps, I can reference then in abbreviated form. You can say "how is the bread coming", and I can answer: "I'm at kneading." or "One resting, one baking."

I can deduce from the use of the expression "in diligence with" that the document you have was written by an investor or business person, and the intended audience is investors or businesspeople. The author knows that the reader will understand "in diligence with" to mean "currently undergoing the process of due diligence, which is being performed by {those investors}".

The expression is not "due diligence," but rather "to be in diligence with." Unless it's supposed to mean that the investor is investigating the company. Sort of makes sense.

"due diligence" is a widely-known step "Due diligence" is almost a guaranteed step in a typical investment or acquisition, at least here in the US. It is so widely known that the author assumes the reader will recognize what s/he is abbreviating here.

Yes, absolutely. Your translation should include the Russian equivalent of "due diligence", which names a specific step in the investment, acquisition or valuation process.

зависит от контекста, мало контекста поэтому не уверен,
Если Компания должна быть осторожно при выборе инвестора? то с осторожностью
