Post-Doctoral (or “Post-Doc”):

A paid, temporary, full-time assignment (typically provided full time benefits) held by a person who has completed his or her doctoral studies. Post-Doc appointments commonly last for periods ranging up to two years, and are usually research-oriented. The appointee is usually given a title equivalent to a research associate or fellow. Post-Doc positions are headcount exempt.

P.S. The one-word spelling headcount tends to have a business jargon feel to it, especially when used adjectivally in phrases such as "headcount reduction", or in the extrapolated case where it refers to one person or one job opening.
