mengesankan Explanation: Tapi, [tugas] itu... kurang mengesankan. Mengapa mengesankan? Ini kata penghalus saja (lihat pertanyaan selanjutnya). Di samping itu, kurang mengesankan bermakna bersayap: bisa harfiah (tidak membekas di ingatan dan hati), bisa kiasan (buruk, payah/lame, dst.) Mengapa kurang bukan tidak? Dilema penerjemah. Budaya di sana lebih (walau tidak selalu) terus-terang, budaya di sini lebih menahan diri. Ganjil rasanya di sini ketika sedang PDKT kita mengkritik pekerjaan si gebetan. Nah, kurang itu mewakili penahanan diri, sebagaimana kurang menarik untuk jelek, atau kurang ilmu untuk bodoh.
