custodial care

English to German Medical Insurance Krankenversicherung
Long-term care is also known as "custodial care" and can be provided in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care or at a patient’s home.

"custodial care" ist doch Pflegschaft, ein Begriff der irgendwie rechtlich orientiert ist. Im Text wird m.E. eine langfristige Pflege beschrieben, kann man trotzdem Pflegschaft benutzen?

vielleicht ist nur Dauerpflege damit gemeint..., wie Daniel vorschlägt. Im darauffolgenden Abschnitt wird aber "supervision of someone who is cognitively impaired" erwähnt, daher "custodial"...

for assisted living facilites we use "betreutes Wohnen", adult day care "Tagespflege von Erwachsenen" and "at patient's home" we use "häusliche Pflege"

don't this is a legal term here as such, but a nursing home that assumes responsibility for taking care of a person
