: very plausible BUT with so little context CL5 is grossly over the top - I've seen far more "obvious" translations proven completely wrong when more context become available!

Although it’s true that another definition can be found, in IT the most common use of CSV is related to the file type. Unless the Asker provide a detail that makes me think about something else. I think for this industry we have the adequate explanations

: Missing "small detail": the CSV format is only good for data structured in tables / spreadsheets ... you won't get audio or video in CVS format, nor any literary text.
