In de EN definitie worden kennelijk enkel chattels in possession bedoeld, dan is roerende zaken een geschikte vertaling (of inboedel inderdaad, in de context van de voorbeeldzinnen). Zoals blijkt uit het citaat uit Zwalve, Common law & civil law (2000), is het begrip chattels echter breder dan enkel roerende zaken.

roerend: art. 3:3, lid 2 BW, tilbaar, zaak die zich kan verplaatsen of kan worden verplaatst, dus ook bijvoorbeeld de registergoederen schepen en luchtvaartuigen; in de wet dubbel negatief gedefinieerd: ~ is niet onroerend.

inboedel
zoals in het voorbeeld aangegeven is kan men ook 'huisraad' gebruiken. Ik vind inboedel duidelijker.
