I thought you might like some more info about pumping rings, so here goes:
Pumping ring is a device attached to a rotating shaft within a seal chamber. It circulates fluid through a closed loop for cooling purposes. In applications involving a fluid at or above its flash point, a pumping ring is employed in the chamber to recirculate fluid to a coller in a closed loop manner. It is sufficiently versatile to be used across a wide variety of industrial situation such as in refineries, waste and water treatment, food processing and pulp + paper plants.
