μm? 250 µm thick tumor slices were cut using a Leica VT 1200S - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7049013/
Anna Zahorska (asker) Jan 23:
Thank you. Yes, this is about a tissue sample (core) biopsy. Exactly, I found in the context of histology and biopsy 250 microns/micrometers. "The cylinders were cut into 250 micron-thick discs" Is it just the way that sometimes you find ml as mL, so here they use uM? Otherewise I found uM meaning micromolar concentration, but is it used as a unit for the preparation of the samples?

Greek letter MU, lost in orthographic conversion special Greek letters lost in medical literature, See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7049013/ Vibratome to create 250 μm × 6 mm slices. quote Microns, also known as micrometers (represented as µm) are a length of measurement equal to one millionth of a meter. (1,000µm is equal to 1mm.)
Sarka Lhotak Jan 23:
Looking at your previous entry, core biopsy is a needle biopsy, i.e. punkční biopsie.
Sarka Lhotak Jan 23:
Could it be 250 microns? Is it a needle biopsy?
