Splish Splash Read! 2002 Summer Reading Program Manual

Welcome to the world of water! We hope Splish Splash Read! will be the motto of the summer all over New York State in 2002. Planners for this year’s program thought it was an appropriate theme for a state that is bordered by and known the world over for its watery bodies–Lake Erie, the Finger Lakes, the Hudson River, the Mohawk River, the Delaware River, the Atlantic Ocean – and all the ponds, lakes, and streams in between. So we celebrate the waters of New York State and all the interesting and amusing things that happen on them
and in them.

这是一个以水为主题的阅读计划，所以总想能够在标题中体现一点与水有关的内容。正如上面Xiaoping Fu所说，Splish Splash这个象声词不容易加进标题中，根据该计划主体卡通宣传画的中主要是学童在玩水的内容，用戏水来反映一点计划的主题。用戏水取代Splish Splash似乎与整个画面仍然很一致。至于Splish Splash的水的溅泼声，可让读者自己去想象，如小孩拿一桶水从头上倒下来，或孩子们在一起玩打水仗游戏等。
