Einteilung von Hirntumoren Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO stuft Gehirntumoren in vier Grade ein – je nach Aggressivität, Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit und Verlauf: • Grad 1: Der Hirntumor ist gutartig und wächst langsam. • Grad 2: Der Hirntumor ist noch gutartig, neigt aber zur Wiederkehr (Rückfall, Rezidiv); der Übergang in einen bösartigen Tumor ist möglich. • Grad 3: Der Hirntumor ist schon bösartig, wächst aber langsam. • Grad 4: Der Hirntumor ist sehr bösartig und aggressiv, er wächst schnell.
