Leave systems In Belgium, several governmental leave systems exist that are specifically designed to help combine work and family life: parental leave, medical assistance leave, palliative care leave and time credit/care credit. In most of the systems, there is a possibility to temporarily reduce your employment by 100%, 50% or 20%. A 10% reduction (0.5 day/week or 1 day/2weeks) is also possible under the parental leave system. The reduced wage is (partly) compensated by an allowance from the Belgian and/or regional government. |
