deities Explanation: 用 deities 即可。traditional 可有可无。 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 mins (2022-06-17 06:21:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I was murmuring my prayers to the deities in the temple. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 51 mins (2022-06-17 06:55:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- 因为用了temple,英文读者应该都明白这是指哪里的神了。 |

god(s) Explanation: Jìngxiāng (敬香 "offering incense with respect"), shàngxiāng (上香 "offering incense"), bàishén (拜神 "worshipping the Gods"), is a ritual of offering incense accompanied by tea and or fruits in Chinese traditional religion. In ancestral religious worship it's jìngzǔ (敬祖 "veneration of the ancestor") or bàizǔ 拜祖 ("worship of the ancestor"). It is observed by a devotee holding joss incense with both hands in front of an altar during the worship. For greater reverence or devotion, the devotee will kneel and bow before the altar during and after placing the incense inside the urn at the altar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jingxiang https://hongkongfreetours.com/man-mo-temple/ |

major god Explanation: With all my respects, I guess the deity could be a major god, as compared with a minor god. For your reference only. |
