急功近利=earger for instant success and quick profits
eg.
In formulating policies, we must not be seeking short-term successes and quick profits. We should take a long-range viw of things.
制定政策不能急功近利, 要有长远的观点

Sorry for the typo: \"eager\", not \"earger.\"

Your wohole sentence should be :\"公司在决策及管理方面表现出急功近利的味道。\" which means:

\"The company shows an eagerness for instant success and quick profits in policy-making and management\"

A typo again: \"whole\", instead of \"wohole\".

PS. The version of Lance is most accurate, because this idiom is always used in a derogatory sense in Chinese.

eager for quick success and instant benefit

Peer comment(s):

agree Raymond Chu : It's probably enough to say "instant success and benefit (or profits)".

neutral Sam Lai : eagerness is not quite sufficient - try short-sighted for immediate effects and profits

rash pursuit of quick results and profits

I am much indebted to BBW.linguist for showing the Chinese characters which my software recognized. (My software is so imperfect that I sometimes miss the simplified, other times, traditional Chinese. This time, BBW saved my day. Could any friend help me with this problem?)
As to the question itself, I agree with BBW.linguist, Dr. Li and Raymond in the main thrust of the phrase. However, I wish to stress a derogatory undertone by bringing in the adjective "rash" (or even "short-sighted").
