Catalan term

la dispersió general

Catalan to English Social Sciences History
This is a text on Catalan Moddernism. this "dispersió general" seems to me to be some historical event, possibly a call to soldiers to disband? I don't know enough about Spanish and Catalan history to know, but the dates of this person's life should be good clue.

Pere Cavallé, (Reus, 1880 – 1939).

Dramaturg i polític, és l’únic de la colla modernista que va romandre al lloc de naixença després de la dispersió general i durant tota la vida.

Tony Isaac Mar 10, 2011:
I'm pretty sure this refers to the period when many Catalans (e.g. Macià) went into exile, mainly for political reasons. I don't know of any English equivalent so you may have to paraphrase.

You might be able to weave this into the equation in some way. "After others among the city's intellectuals had left town to join the diaspora of Reus intelligencia in Barcelona and elsewhere... " -

It's a fudge, but it attempts to avoid tying the move into any particular political motivation, which is guesswork, unless the text states it.

Link below to the only article of substance I could find on him. Seems like an interesting character. I'll have to check out his plays.
