denial of a claim
It could be this, too, if the cancellation was done by the one with whom the claim was filed. The claim might be denied on its merits or for some other reason (procedural or if the filer isn't recognized or if liability/jurisdiction is not ackcnowledged). If done by the filer of the claim, then "withdrawal" would be appropriate.
