A system comprising: a computer system comprising a web server; a mobile telecommunications device; and a breathing assistance apparatus configured to capture medical data relating to a patient and/or operation of the apparatus and display a scannable image encoding the medical data captured by the apparatus for subsequent transfer, storage and/or review comprising: a controller (12), a display (17), a memory accessible by the controller, at least one sensor (20) configured to provide medical data to the controller (12), the controller (12) being configured to store the medical data in the memory, wherein: the controller (12) is configured to generate and display on the display a scannable image wherein the generated scannable image encodes the medical data and a Uniform Resource Locator (URL), the URL comprising an access address of the webserver of the computer system (30), wherein the medical data is appended to the access address as a sub path of the URL, and wherein the generated scannable image is configured to be capturable, in use, by the mobile telecommunications device (24) comprising a camera (25) and barcode reader application that facilitates the required processing and telecommunications functions in conjunction with the mobile telecommunications device (24) hardware to decode the barcode to extract the URL comprising the access address and sub path with medical data from the scannable image in order to access the webserver of the computer system (30) by sending an HTTP get request to the webserver associated with the URL, wherein the sub path of the URL is configured to be extracted by the webserver of the computer system (30), and the webserver is configured to extract the medical data from the sub path, such that the extracted medical data can be stored on a database of the computer system (30).

A medical apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the medical data is encoded into a byte array that is subsequently base 64 encoded into a text string, the text string being appended to the access address as the sub path.

A medical apparatus according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the medical data is or comprises patient data.

A medical apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the patient data comprises at least one of the following:
runtime; usage time; AHI; ***leak***; compliance data; usage data; and efficacy data.

A medical apparatus according to claim 4, wherein the patient data comprises at least one of the following:
runtime in hours from 0.0 to 10.0; usage time in hours from 0.0 to 10.0; AHI in index up to 255; and ***leak*** in litres per minute up to 120.

A medical apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein the medical data is or comprises medical apparatus data or diagnostic data.

A medical apparatus according to any previous claim further comprising a display, preferably wherein the controller (12) is configured to display the barcode on the display (17).

A medical apparatus according to any previous claim wherein the medical device is a breathing assistance apparatus, such as PAP apparatus; flow therapy apparatus; oxygen apparatus; or similar.

A medical apparatus according to claim 8 wherein the breathing assistance apparatus is a CPAP apparatus comprising a housing (11) with an internal blower (12) for providing pressurised air to a patient optionally via a conduit (13) and a patient interface (14).

A medical apparatus according to claim 9 wherein the pressurised air is humidifiable by a chamber (16) that is internal, external, or separate to the CPAP apparatus.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
