Please see below re a surgical procedure for partial atrioventricular canal defect, many thanks

Canulation de la veine cave inferieure (canule 28 – illegible).
Confection d’une bourse et mise en place d’une canule d’aspiration gauche au pied de la veine pulmonaire superieure droite.
Les veines caves superior et inferieure sont dissequees et laquees.
Clampage aortique.
Instillation d’une solution de Cardioplegie chaude puis froide en racine aortique.
Celle-ci sera repete toutes les 20 minutes.
Apres obtention de la Cardioplegie, ouverture de l’oreillette droite.
L’exploration intra-cardiaque retrouve:
- Absence de foramen ovale perméable,
- Il existe un très large ostium primum,
- La valve atrio-ventriculaire droite est sans anomalie,

lacquered

lacquered = to coat with any of various clear or colored synthetic organic coatings that typically dry to form a film by evaporation of the solvent. (Merriam-Webster online)

The veins are cut and "plugged" with laquear during the procedure so that blood will not leak away, which laquear will be dissolved and the veins rejoined at the end of said procedure.
