German term
teils angedeutet saumartiges
German to English
Medical
Medical: Oncology
Histology report of a neuroendocrine cancer:
"Synaptophysin zeigt ein partiell erkennbares, teils angedeutet saumartiges Expressionsprofil"
When you have teils + angedeutet + saumartig as 3 consecutive words in German, you know you're in trouble.
I'm looking for an elegant English translation, not "partly hinted" and the like. Please.
Thanks for your input!

: No real clue about what made you hit on 'hemispherical' here...

Given the dearth of context, we are unfortunately reduced to guesswork

in parts vaguely seam-like
Sentence:
'Synaptophysin shows (or exhibits...?) a partially visible, in parts vaguely seam-like (seamlike?) expression profile (or 'pattern).'
As a first attempt. May others improve it...
Not sure about the hyphenation of 'seam-like'. Most texts on big G do hyphenate it, Collins dictionary does not..

Hi Lirka, as to your friendly reply:
I wouldn't use 'marginal' here. I do believe that 'saumartig' means that it literally resembles a kind of seam.

Most likely, this is about immunohistochemistry.

Hi uyuni - thanks for your help. Not sure about "seam-like"; 'marginal', perhaps? |

: https://www.proz.com/kudoz/german-to-english/medical-general... teils angedeutet: as partly / sometimes / indicated NB in Austria: säumig is code for schlampig, much like the next answer.
