When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Lisa Rosengard Jul 13, 2023:
C'est quelque chose plus que les raisons de l'existence. Les détails de la cause peuvent être de l'information qui explique les raisons pourquoi continuer à faire quelque chose. On peut chercher pourquoi faire quelque chose et comment le faire.

I’m searching for the reason behind everything

A suggestion.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Daryo : the nearest, but you don't need "everything" - it's probably about only one event, not a general attitude.

I'm looking for the Why's and (the) Wherefore's

I'm looking for the Whys and (the) Wherefores
Peer comment(s):

neutral Yvonne Gallagher : sorry, can't agree with your spellings

disagree AllegroTrans : Plurals don't take an apostrophe, except on semi-illiterate notices and cheap cafe menus

disagree Daryo : Terminal contradiction between style and content. People who would use "Why's / Wherefore's" are definitely not the kind of people that would ever be bothered with "le pourquoi des choses".

I seek to find out why and how.

It's about the reasons for a commitment to a cause, an action or a commitment with a question on which way is best to continue.

I'm looking for the whys and wherefores

similar to the answer by Béatrice. Was about to agree with her but really can't:-( ; there are definitely no apostrophes for plurals!
