Arabic term

مجموعات شاردة

Arabic to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
Hi everyone,

This is from a North African text. How does شاردة work with the groups of men in this context?

Does it mean they are looking for trouble? Roaming around?

يدخلون في مجموعات شاردة إلى ثكناتهم، ويبرّحونهم ضربا، ثم يخرجونهم إلى الساحة ، ويجرون وراءهم

Thanks!

disorganized groups/troops

What's confusing is the fact that they move into their camp(s) in a disorganized manner even though they are (physically and psychologically) abused. I think it's due to lack of context. Anyway, here you go - you can choose accordingly from the following options:

1. Unruly units
2. Disoriented squads
3. Mismanaged formations
4. Wandering troops
5. Undisciplined battalions

Within the context of military camps, we normally talk about organisation # disorganization
