Regulation knickers

Hello everyone,

I am learning German at an evening class and as part of our homework for Easter, we have been asked to write an essay about our time at school. I am getting on ok with this on the whole, but I cannot fathom a translation for ‘regulation knickers’. Would anyone be able to help me at all please?

I did not find where I could directly answer to your note.

So, I think my translation should be right in this context. I am only wondering why someone would say what underwear studendts should wear. So, I think "Vorgeschriebene Hosen" is a better fit. Maybe you have a bigger context and see if it makes sense to tell the students which underwear they should wear, then "Vorgeschriebene Unterhose" would be the right fit. If it makes more sense to tell the students which pants they should wear, then "Vorgeschriebene Hosen" ist the right fit. Hope it helps,
