There is in fact another reason why "Line of Sight visibility" is far from being redundant when it comes to radars.

Some radars have also "beyond the horizon" visibility.

@ Asker No, it's absolutely not redundant!
They mean 2 different things:
'Line of Sight' means that it could be visible (no obstructions, etc.)
'visibility' means the extent to which it is actually visible.
For example, something might be in plain sight, but too small to actually see.
