Hi All,
Would really appreciate any help with the above term in the following context. I've seen that it has previously been translated as bankruptcy proceedings, but I don't think that fits in this case?
Many thanks in advance,
Darren

(Land Reg.) general adjudication effective erga omnes; (probate/bankruptcy) class action
Bankruptcy proceedings is setting the scene, rather than a translation that clearly goes a different way for UK land registration or US real estate recordation (*public record*) purposes.

I cannot see how every land transaction could have involved bankruptcy
My gut feeling tells me that this was akin to the situation in late medieval England whereby a fictitous "trial" was held to determine whether the seller really owned the land, followed by a "judgment" under the terms of which the buyer became the legal owner
