Broni palnej nie wolno wwozić ani wywozić ze Szwecji bez zezwolenia.

Podróżni przed wjazdem do Szwecji muszą z dużym wyprzedzeniem złożyć wniosek oraz uzyskać z komendy wojewódzkiej szwedzkiej policji odpowiedniej dla miejsca wwozu zezwolenie przywozowe. Gdy podróżny przybywa z kraju należącego do UE musi również przedstawić EKB, wydaną przez upoważnione władze odpowiednie dla miejsca zamieszkania tej osoby.

EKB musi zawierać szczegóły dotyczące wwożonej broni palnej przeznaczonej na polowanie lub zawody sportowe. Jeśli EKB zawiera również zezwolenie wwozowe wydane przez Szwedzką Policję, to jest ono ważne samo w sobie. Zezwolenie wwozowe może być ważne na kilka podróży na okres do jednego roku od wydania.

Po przybyciu do Szwecji podróżny musi zgłosić się do Szwedzkiego Urzędu Celnego, wypełnić tzw. Deklarację Broni (Arms Declaration) oraz okazać 'Zezwolenie na Wwóz' wydane przez Szwedzką Policję.
