è ovvio che l' immobilizzazione delle mani si fa con hand restraints, bisogna vedere che cosa si intende per "pugnetti"

But doesn't "pugnetti" mean fists? I won't propose a translation because I'm not well-versed in Italian hospital terminology, but hand restraints doesn't make sense to me because "pugnetti" means "fists" (though it does make sense in context of course). Equally though, the text could be saying that hospital staff held down the patient's hands with their own hands/fists.
I think "wrist restraints" is "cinghie per i polsi" (https://www.medicalexpo.it/prod/medicare-system/product-9335... though I don't know whethere there is a more colloquial term.
