In the US, Polish doctors have to pass a few exams and complete certain residency requirements.

Is a Polish doctor after 6 years of medical studies equivalent to an American MD after four years of pre-med and 4 years of medical school? Would a student who has completed the English-language medical school in Poland with an MD degree be accepted to a residence program in the US and elsewhere?

In Poland the title of lekarz (physician, medical doctor) or "lek." is granted after completing a 6-year medical program (students apply to it directly after graduating high school).[42] Many medical schools in Poland also offer medicine programs in English, which award the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.[43][44][45

"MD" is an internationally recognized title/qualification.

This is a less US Centric description. M. D. is largely a US degree. Physician is the profession.

i raczej nie uzywamy slowa "major" w kontekscie studiow medycznych
sa tylko specializations, ale to pozniej, po internshipach :)
