Susan Starling Aug 6, 2022:
Steffen, I think we actually could use "medical conditions" here, as a disability can also be considered a medical condition. I would probably say something like (very off the cuff here!) "As regards the various medical conditions, the extent to which they have permanently impaired general work performance should be specified in each instance." Assuming "hat" at the end of the sentence as per the text you discovered.

No, it's not.

Is this your source text? https://kobra.uni-kassel.de/bitstream/handle/123456789/20090...
If so, see pages 217 and 358.
KathyAnna O (asker) Aug 6, 2022:
@Steffen, this was the original text, but I do agree that "allgemeinen" should have not been capitalized.
the term "Gesundheitsschäden" refers to health damages/injuries due to concentration camp imprisonment.
Steffen Walter Aug 6, 2022:
Gesundheitsschäden is a very vague term... ... that could include both disabilities and medical conditions/disorders.
Steffen Walter Aug 6, 2022:
Error in second part of German sentence ... which should be either "inwieweit ihre Entwicklung die Leistungsfähigkeit im allgemeinen Erwerbsleben nachhaltig beeinträchtigt hat" or "inwieweit durch ihre Entwicklung die Leistungsfähigkeit im allgemeinen Erwerbsleben nachhaltig beeinträchtigt ist" (and "allgemeinen" should not be capitalised).

for each medical condition

This is just how you say "for each" in idiomatic German.

agree Steffen Walter : for each reported/diagnosed medical condition

I think that's a good idea that doesn't feel like I'm adding extra fluff to the translation. Thanks, Steffen.

individual health setbacks

Advertising / Public Relations is an odd sub-category for medical as the main category.

A more literal rendering, such as *isolated types of damage to health* might help if English is being used as a 'bridging' or 'relay' language into the asker's native language of Polish.

Otherwise, the discussion entrants can post their own ideas, such as medical disorders and conditions.

Note that UK medical insurance that used to be taken out - before widspread phase-out over scammed claims - for related medical issues are called 'dreaded diseases' or 'critical illnesses' that do not include mental conditions.
