This is a method of greens construction whereby 300mm of a specified sand forms the profile of the green. The sand is underlain by a network of perforated drainage pipe or by tile or fin drains (flat drains) laid on the surface. This is a relatively quick, easy and cost-effective method of greens construction, but requires more irrigation water than the USGA method (not necessarily a problem at Valle de Uco where there is a plentiful water supply).

Hay varios tipos, entre ellos: drenaje de baldosas (también baldosa de drenaje) y el "fin drain" (drenaje de aleta), que se llama así porque comprende una tubería perforada subterránea desde la cual se extiende perpendicularmente hacia arriba a lo largo de su longitud una delgada sección vertical, denominada "aleta" (https://hmong.es/wiki/Tile_drain).
