Under the Persian Calendar, "5 Dey 1395 (Yekshanbeh) corresponds to December 25, 2016 (Sunday) on the Gregorian Calendar.

See references to avoid repetition. I don't think that merely repeating "05 day 1395" is enough explanation and perhaps a TN would be in order. From what I gather, 1395 refers to "Esfand" (explanation in reference below).

agree ezpz : Agree with everything except Dey is in reference to the *tenth month! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dey_(month). Their calendar is also 365/366 long, so the conversion to Gregorian remains static.

I understand. Precisely why I think the Asker's entry would be better understood with a Translator's Note and (s)he would have to decide how to frame it.

Today is Saturday; 21st of the Iranian month of Esfand 1395 solar hijri; corresponding to 12th of the Islamic month of Jamadi as-Sani 1438 lunar hijri; and March 11, 2017, of the Christian Gregorian Calendar.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esfand
Esfand (Persian: اسفند, Persian pronunciation: [esˈfænd][1]) is the twelfth and final month of the Solar Hijri calendar, the official calendar of Iran and Afghanistan.[1] Esfand has twenty-nine days[1] normally, and thirty during leap years[citation needed]. It begins in February and ends in March of the Gregorian calendar[citation needed]. The Afghan Persian name is Hūt; in Pashto it is Kab.

Esfand is the third and last month of the winter season (Zemestan), and is followed by Farvardin.[1]

Thank you.
agree ezpz : Very cool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dey_(month) + https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_Hijri_calendar#Months . Pues parece que se escribe Dey no Day, y que se trata del calendario iraní, equivalente a diciembre-enero.
