Yes, this "loading" with food seems a funny way of expressing it, but here I see it's a gradual "loading" for a child who has been ill, with a dry roll, biscuits, maybe a banana. |
There's nothing to link it clearly with glycaemic load. As far as I can tell, it just means that the digestive system is getting an actual "load" of food, i.e. that the patient is not being nourished by other means (parenterally). |

Why is this form of wording used? Does it simply indicate that the patient is not on parenteral nutrition?
