Discussion

Dan Echevarria (asker) May 5, 2022:
Thanks to all of you. I think I agree with Andy on this one. It's like promotional material for free in exchange for a commitment to buy that product in the future from the supplier.
Andy Watkinson May 5, 2022:

Andy Watkinson May 5, 2022:
Don’t know the English, but “costes de abanderamiento” are the cost of assets provided free to a buyer in exchange for future acquisitions.

e.g. Coca Cola provides a bar with tables, chairs, decorations, signs, etc. in exchange for the bar owner buying only Coke in future and not a rival product.
So these initial costs are later offset by future purchases.

tied (corporate) branding costs

> long version: tied-covenant livery, signage & wrap (vs. rapper & reggae) advertising charges

Wrap advertising is often used on vans, lorries and estate cars- cut to City of London Livery Companies and compare the unconnected structure of livery horse stables.

Tied covenants are often used by British and Irish breweries to 'tie down' pubs and bars (tied houses') to advertising certain brands of beer and commit their pub landlords' (cf. brewery tenants') staff, but I have found no US or Can. ref. to this iniquitous practic/se, possibly because it may fall foul of anti-trust - monopolies & mergers - cartel laws.
Example sentence:

Wrap advertising "'or a "'vehicle wrap "'describe the marketing practice of completely or partially covering ( wrapping a vehicle in an advertisement or livery.

On average a CPM for online advertising starts around $3. While digital signage advertising can have a CPM of $9 to $32.
