شحن المواد

Arabic to English Art/Literary Computers: Software
Hi everyone,

I'm working a Libyan text and from context, I think this means 'to download material', but just wasn't sure about the usage of the verb شحن.

Here is the sentence:

ريثما أتم إرسال الرسائل وشحن المواد التي أرغب في قرأتها في الذاكرة المحمولة

Many thanks!

Download is from a server to a hard device and upload is the opposite. Here I think they mean they have something on the computer which they want to transfer to a stick or usb memory.
I think this person is in a cybercafé.

Transfer items

In this context, the messages are being sent and the items transferred to the portable storage which I'm assuming is being done using two devices, whereas upload or download doesn't make sense considering you have "إرسال الرسائل" before the items transfer

download

We "upload" or transfer data from a bigger source where they are stored into a smaller source, which is not the case here. It's the other way around, "download". The asker is right: "to download material".

load the material

neither upload nor download
شحن is not neither

that's why I simply chose 'load'
