I disturb you once again about a line from Yeats, found in Calvary.

The ger-eagle has chosen his part
In blue deep of the upper air
Where one-eyed day can meet his stare;
He is content with his savage heart

My tentative translation:

L’avvoltoio ha scelto di restare
nell’azzurro profondo dell’aria sovrastante
dove il giorno dall’unico occhio può incontrare il suo sguardo,
pago del proprio cuore selvaggio

However, I do not understand what Yeats means by "one-eyed".
Wild guess: does he refer to the sun in the sky?

  -> Ciao Barbara. La prima ipotesi, quella del sole e' della sottoscritta cui `seguita quella della collega ed infatti quando ho messo insieme le due deduzioni l'ho anche specificato nella mia motivazione.
