English term

Subject leader

English to Spanish Other Education / Pedagogy
Hola,

Estoy traduciendo una carta de recomendación de un centro (middle school) británico y uno de los cargos que refieren es "Spanish subject leader". ¿Podría ser "Profesor de referencia"?

Muchas gracias

I worked in schools in the UK and was "Deputy subject leader" I've always translated it as "Jefe de Departamento", even if the post does not exist in Spanish speaking schools, it makes sense and describes the post perfectly. It means that you are in charge of everything to do with that subject and of other teachers who teach that subject.

Profesor titular de español

"Spanish subject leader"
Peer comment(s):

disagree Mónica Hanlan : Sorry, Ana. In a school there may be several "profesores titulares" but only one in charge of the department, one who is the subject leader.
