Spanish term

cerdo entrepelado

Spanish to English Other Food & Drink
"Hay diferentes razas de cerdo ibérico, como lampiños, entrepelados, retintos, el rubio, manchados de Jabugo, el torbiscal."

There are many pictures, there are descriptions ... but, does it have a translation?

Althea Draper Oct 15, 2021:
According to Mason's World Dictionary of Livestock Breeds, Types and Varieties
By Valerie Porter · 2020, this would be Iberian Black Hairy breed. However, I can't see the full description to see what it says.

In some academic papers, it refers to the as an Iberian black hairy variety (no capitals) eg here

Justin Peterson (asker) Oct 15, 2021:
Good information there ... thanks ... yes, it looks like only a couple of those can be translated: "spotted Jabugo", "hairless", and perhaps "light-skinned" ... the rest, in Spanish, I think

I believe you leave it in Spanish

Ibérico pigs are divided into black (Entrepelado, Lampiño, Mamellado, Silvela and Negro de los Pedroches), red (Retinto, Colorado, Oliventina and Torbiscal), spotted (Manchado de Jabugo), and light-skinned Ibérico pigs (Dorado Gaditano), although these light-skinned Ibérico pigs are nearly extinct.
