I have never heard the term "financial technician" before in US English. I decided to do a little more digging and I found that the position "financial technician" does exist. But it seems to be more prevalent term in the public sector. See link: https://www.indeed.com/q-Finance-Technician-jobs.html?vjk=6c... However, "financial/tax analyst" is much more common in my experience.
