English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime Bottom car

We tried out again the mainsail yesterday when there was very little wind, I am sure we need to modify the boom to ensure it is working correctly, to rig it as before the foot is definitely 10-15 cm too short. But with the boom modification I hope it will work, and if the sail foot is loose enough to give the desired profile depth maybe the BOTTOM CAR also will fit....

Ayer probamos de nuevo la vela mayor cuando había muy poco viento, estoy seguro de que tenemos que modificar la botavara para asegurarnos de que funciona correctamente, para montarla como antes el pie es, sin duda, demasiado corto, le faltan 10-15 cm. Pero con la modificación de la botavara espero que funcione, y si el pie de la vela está lo suficientemente suelto para dar la profundidad de perfil deseada quizás el bottom car también encaje....

Parece ser una pieza específica, pero no la encuentro en los glosarios náuticos
